The Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources says it will investigate a document circulating on social media saying that the late former chief executive of the Forestry Commission, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, often known as Sir John, left sections of the Achimota forest lands in his will.

According to the ministry, all papers pertaining to the land in issue have been sought as part of an investigation to determine the authenticity of the allegations.

A statement made on Sunday, May 22, 2022, and published on the ministry’s Facebook page stated that the ministry takes the charges “extremely seriously.”

The Ministry said that this issue predates the current minister’s term, Samuel Jinapor.

A claimed copy of the deceased Sir John’s will has been extensively disseminated on social media, claiming that the firm DML limited owns a piece of property in the Achimota Forest.
